WEST VIRGINIA—Tomahawk Christian Church, Hedgesville, W.Va., which averages 70–100 for Sunday morning worship, is seeking a full-time minister who holds to the principles of the Restoration Movement.  The church is located in one of the 50 fastest-growing counties in the country. MICHIGAN—2|42 Community Church in Michigan, one of the fastest-growing megachurches in America, is conducting a search for a new senior pastor. The church celebrated its 15th anniversary in February, the same month it opened three new campuses to increase in size to seven campuses. The church averaged 7,222 in weekly worship attendance during 2019. TENNESSEE/HAITIHope for Haiti’s Children—which nurtures, educates, and trains more than 3,000 poverty-bound Haitian children to become Christian leaders in their homes, churches, and communities—is seeking a director of advancement. Based out of Nashville, Tenn., the director of advancement serves as the primary architect and leader of HFHC’s comprehensive, results-oriented development and marketing programs that advance the organization’s mission and goals. ILLINOISLincoln (Ill.) Christian University is looking to hire full-time faculty members to instruct in the areas of ministry and theology, respectively, with both positions to commence Aug. 1, 2021, and the review of applications to begin Jan. 4. Primary teaching responsibilities for both positions will be in LCU’s undergraduate division.

Teaching responsibilities for the ministry faculty position will include courses in preaching, church administration, pastoral care, and ministerial ethics. The applicant will be expected to teach online as well as on campus. The applicant must be an energetic, enthusiastic teacher who can attract and retain students and provide students with relevant instruction for leading today’s church. Some of the qualifications include: a terminal degree (master’s degree may receive consideration) in directly related field preferred; balanced commitment to the church, to Christian higher education, and to the broader academy; and experience in vocational ministry and working with multiple staff. Responsibilities will include teaching, supervising student research and writing, and mentoring students outside the classroom, among others.

Teaching responsibilities for the theology faculty position will include both first-year and upper-division courses in theology. An occasional opportunity to teach graduate courses in theology is a possibility. An ability to contribute philosophy courses to the undergraduate interdisciplinary studies program would also be highly valued. The applicant will be expected to teach online as well as on campus. Some of the qualifications include: research doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in theology or directly related field (ABD applicants or those currently enrolled in a doctoral program may receive consideration); demonstrated achievement or potential in classroom teaching and of scholarly contribution; balanced commitment to the church, to Christian higher education, and to the broader academy. Applicants who have applied theology in a ministry setting will be preferred. Responsibilities will include teaching, recruiting and retention of students, academic advising, and engaging in scholarship, among others.

ILLINOISMinier (Ill.) Christian Church (MCC) is seeking a full-time associate minister or executive minister. This minister will serve MCC through leadership and discipleship. This person will complement the lead minister’s evangelistic focus and skillset by focusing on programmatic and organic spiritual formation for long-term and consistent church members and attendees. MCC is pretty effective at attracting newcomers but needs to improve at taking the congregation deeper into the intellectual and experiential aspects of our faith. Responsibilities and duties will include directly leading MCC’s staff (including ministry and support employees); facilitating communication amongst staff and between staff and elders; providing leadership and direction to Life Groups (adult small groups); organizing and facilitating volunteer ministry teams; preaching 6 to 10 times a year; and participating in other ministerial opportunities. Qualifications include a significant church and/or parachurch ministry experience; a bachelor’s degree (preferably in a ministry or Bible/theology subject area); and a personable, approachable personality. KANSAS—New Hope Christian Church of Cherryvale, Kan., is seeking a full-time minister to help lead the church and to preach the Word of God as divinely inspired and written. The minister should have outstanding people skills and maintain positive working relationships, will preach at Sunday morning and evening services, and will teach Sunday school and Wednesday evening Bible study as needed. The minister will attend church meetings with trustees and report on church activities and discuss spiritual needs of the church, as well as conduct other ministerial duties (weddings, funerals, visitation, counseling, and community outreach).
