Standard Publishing highlights creative resources for churches using drama, interactive worship, and classic art to support evangelism, Bible teaching, and discipleship.

Creative Arts Evangelism Resources for Churches

Creative arts evangelism resources from Standard Publishing were being prepared to help churches engage people with the gospel through drama, interactive worship, and Bible studies built around classic works of art. These tools were designed to support both evangelism and Bible teaching in local churches.

  • Creativity can help engage both doubters and disciples with the goodness of God.
  • Standard Publishing planned a June release of tools for churches using the arts in evangelism and Bible teaching.
  • The featured resources included drama training, interactive worship ideas, and Bible studies connected to classic art.

Seldom will we win a person to Christ without telling him truths of the gospel. But talking alone often is not the best first approach. This week’s writers remind us of a whole world of creativity that can engage doubters as well as disciples with the goodness of God. And I’m proud to add that Standard Publishing is getting ready to release a library of tools to help local churches use the arts in evangelism and Bible teaching. Watch for each of the following, available this June.

Creative Tools from Standard Publishing

  • Stage It Right is a handbook for anyone doing drama or setting the stage for any kind of event. It is filled with step-by-step instructions, detailed diagrams, and full-color photos to help even the beginner stage a professional production.

By Lena Wood, Arian and Daniel Armstrong. Item no. 021532110, $19.99.

  • Making a Mess and Meeting God offers interactive, involving ways to worship. The author reminds us that our worship usually involves wordsโ€”reading, praying journaling, listening, talking, thinking, singing. And she challenges us to add other experiencesโ€”holding, shaping, walking, sitting, standing, making, and doing.

By Mandy Smith. Item no. 021532010, $17.99

  • Through Artists’ Eyes is a series of three elective studies leading group members to discover Bible truth as they consider great works of classic art.

God’s Word on Canvas (item no. 021534910) explores paintings by Van Gogh, Caravaggio, and Rembrandt to consider Bible truths about hope, belief, purpose, God’s will, strength, and the future.

God’s Word in Stone (item no. 021535110) reminds us of great works of sculpture by Michelangelo, Donatello, and Pisano and leads us to explore the lives of Moses, Habakkuk, Haggai, Mary Magdalene, Paul, and the 12 disciples.

God’s Word Through Glass (item no. 021535010) examines stained glass masterpieces and looks at Bible teaching about gratification, easy answers, holiness, and comfortable religion.

Each of these Bible studies includes six easy-to-lead sessions as well as 12 pages of full-color art and background on the art masterpieces.

By Joe and Cindy Garland with Jim Eichenberger. $7.99 each.
