Church Development Fund Announces Presidential Transition

IRVINE, California ““ Provision Ministry Group CEO Larry Winger, along with the PMG and Church Development Fund boards, announced today a transition in the presidency of CDF from Brad Dupray to Dusty Rubeck.

The news follows several months of reassessment related to the ministry”s current status and needs, which resulted in the identification of a directional shift in the essential leadership qualities needed for future growth.

“Brad Dupray stepped in at a critical moment in the history of CDF to assume the role of president and provide much-needed stability during the worst economic recession we have experienced in years,” said Winger. “Under his leadership, every single measurement of financial health has improved, and today CDF sits poised for unprecedented growth and ministry impact. As we look at the next season of CDF, we believe it will require a different set of leadership gifts and skills as the marketplace changes. With enormous gratitude to Brad for a job well done, we are excited to embark on a new chapter in the history of this 60-year-old fund and welcome Dusty Rubeck as president.”

Dupray has been an invaluable member of the CDF team since 1989, having held numerous positions during his tenure, including chief operating officer and national marketing director. He will continue to serve as president until January 2014, at which time Rubeck will take the helm of CDF and Dupray will transition into a new role within CDF.

Rubeck will bring visionary and business leadership to the CDF team. He currently serves as the president and CEO of Dallas Christian College (DCC). During his 10-year tenure at DCC, he successfully transformed the corporate culture, led the team through the launch of an intensive four-year mentoring program for every student, and provided guidance through the expansion of innovative uses of educational technology. He also completed a major renovation of the campus and grounds as well as a $5 million comprehensive capital campaign.

Prior to his time at DCC, Rubeck served as chairman, president, and CEO of The Worship Network, PraiseTV, and CNI Holdings and was executive director for the North American Christian Convention. Rubeck has an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and a BA from Dallas Christian College. He also served on the CDF board of directors for seven years, three of which he was the board chair.

“I have had the pleasure of working with the past three presidents of CDF over a 15-year period, and I am honored to be chosen to lead CDF into this new era,” said Rubeck. “Having served on the CDF board, I understand the needs of CDF. They have successfully navigated the greatest economic downturn of our generation. I believe that with great hardships come greater opportunities. I look forward to building upon the incredible work CDF is already doing.”

Rubeck intends to call upon his experience working with churches on a national scale in order to cast vision and to maximize opportunities for CDF and the churches it serves.

“Churches in America are facing tremendous challenges,” he said. “From the impact of the recent recession, to the national decline in church attendance and giving, to the growing cultural hostility against Christianity, these are times that demand bold leadership. The churches and parachurch ministries within the independent Christian churches and churches of Christ are displaying that leadership as shining lights in a dark time.

“I believe the leaders in the church-funding marketplace can come alongside these churches to meet their needs, and it is my vision that CDF can work with others in the industry to be a valuable asset to churches across the nation,” he continued.
