Harvest Prayer Ministries Starts PrayerU (Plus News Briefs)

by | 24 March, 2021 | 0 comments

Harvest Prayer Ministries has started PrayerU, an online school of prayer for individuals, small groups, and churches.

“Our deepest prayer is that PrayerU will be a consistent training ground for Christians of all backgrounds and all generations to grow deep, loving attachments to God in and through prayer for the glory of God and his kingdom,” say Dave and Kim Butts, co-founders of Harvest Prayer Ministries and co-creators of PrayerU.

For an annual membership fee of $120, PrayerU provides unlimited access to an expanding catalog of courses and material. The on-demand video lessons cover a wide variety of prayer topics. The online platform enables churches to offer different PrayerU courses to multiple study groups simultaneously.

The Buttses, who started Harvest Prayer Ministries in 1993 to train local churches in prayer, started working on the PrayerU platform prior to the coronavirus pandemic. The courses reflect the lessons they have learned while leading others through the years. PrayerU’s timing actually was good, they say, as more people have become comfortable with distance learning.

PrayerU’s online tools will work with both in-person and virtual meetings. All course content is grounded in Scripture, guided by the belief that “the Bible is the best source for instruction on prayer and that Jesus is our best teacher.”

The annual membership includes the opportunity to participate in the PrayerU Community for discussion, interaction with instructors, support, and prayer. Regularly posted blogs by instructors will add depth to this practical learning platform. The site’s growing library of resources offers further insight and encouragement.
