Johnson University Florida will host a Legacy Coalition Intentional Grandparenting Seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 25 that features David Wheeler, who retired from JU this past summer after serving 24 years as a professor of congregational ministry. The Global Missions Health Conference is slated for Southeast Christian Church’s Blankenbaker Campus in Louisville from Nov. 11 to 13. This year’s event will be virtual and in-person. Thousands of medical students, pastors, leaders of nonprofits, and volunteers from around the world are expected to attend. There will be scores of exhibitors and 150 breakout sessions. Manhattan Christian College’s two-day Woman’s World Conference will take place Feb. 25-26, 2022. The theme will be “Out of the Blue”—a reminder that God speaks to us all the time if we will only listen. The weekend program will include practical seminars, a keynote speaker, meals, worship, and other surprises.

Milligan University recently kicked off a $40 million fundraising campaign titled “On Mission: The Campaign for Milligan University” that focuses on new programs, scholarships, and facility enhancements.

“The campaign’s funding priorities recognize that the Milligan experience encompasses not only the classroom, but also life together in the residence hall, in worship, in athletic competition, on campus, in care for others, and in fellowship with one another,” said president Bill Greer.

The Los Alamos Daily Post highlighted the work of Haitian Christian Mission last week. Three representatives of HCM visited the Christian Church in Los Alamos to share about the ministry.

HCM was founded in 1974 by Etienne and Betty Prophete. It started humbly with front porch Bible studies, the article says, “but grew to include medical clinics, schools, a woodworking shop, a peanut butter factory and a micro-loan program for women entrepreneurs.”

Mike Williams will transition from the presidency of one noninstrumental Church of Christ college to another. Last week, Williams, president of Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala., was selected to lead Harding University in Searcy, Ark. Prior to his arrival at Faulkner in 2015, Williams served in various leadership roles at Harding for 28 years, including a dozen years as vice president of advancement. Williams will conclude his time at Faulkner in May 2022 and begin at Harding on June 1, 2022.

Southeast Christian Church’s campus on Blankenbaker Parkway will host Louisville’s Veterans Day Parade from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The “parade in reverse” will feature stationary parade units. Attendees will drive through the parade grounds, honking horns and waving flags.

Thom S. Ranier recently shared “Nine Realities Your Church Will Face in 2022” at ChurchAnswers.com. No. 1 is, “There is a lot of reason for hope,” but No. 7 is, “We estimate that as many as 15,000 churches will be confronted with the choice of closing or being adopted.”
