A very rare original copy of Thomas Campbell’s Declaration and Address from 1809 is now on display at the Brown Library on the campus of Abilene Christian University in Texas. The document played an integral role in the start of the Restoration Movement. This particular copy was passed down within a family for many years; brothers Wesley and Bradley Williams of Tennessee handed off the document to Mac Ice, ACU’s director of special collections and archives, about a year ago. The copy of the Declaration and Address at ACU is the only one publicly displayed in the United States, according to an article in the Christian Chronicle. Learn more about ACU’s vast collections at blogs.acu.edu/specialcollections.
