A memorial service for Dwight Good, 86, is set for 2 p.m. March 4 at Victor Baptist Church in Branson, Mo. Dwight, together with his twin brother, Dwayne, comprised the Good Twins singing duo, performing together for more than 60 years.
The Illinois native sang in The Lordsmen quartet (with his brother and two others) and played baseball and basketball at Lincoln (Ill.) Christian University, earning a degree in theology in 1958. He and Dwayne became a duet afterward, first performing in at revivals and concerts in the Midwest.
Eventually, they moved to California, recorded albums at Capitol Records, and won the Gospel Music Associationโs NEFF (Dove) Award for Gospel Duet Album of the Year. They recorded more than 50 albums and performed over 7,500 concerts in 22 countries. They also were singing cast members on Cecil Toddโs Revival Fires television ministry for many years. (After Dwayne Goodโs death in April 2022, we ran a special โThrowback Thursdayโ celebrating the Good Twinsโ musical history.)
Dwight Good also was youth minister for Knott Avenue Christian Church in Anaheim, Calif.; pastor of Omega Christian Church in Arcadia, Ind.; and vice president of ChildLife International, based in Davenport, Iowa.
