Ryan Riggins has joined The Solomon Foundation as president. He will work closely with CEO Doug Crozier to ensure the vision of the fast-growing church extension fund is translated into day-to-day operations, according to a news release.
TSF is a leading financial organization that partners with the Restoration Movement to grow the kingdom of God through financial solutions for churches. The Parker, Colo.-based nonprofit connects churches and investors within the RM community (those who attend Christian Churches and Churches of Christ).
“I am excited to have Ryan Riggins and his family join our TSF family as we partner to grow the kingdom,” Crozier said.
Riggins hails from Macomb, Ill., where he played an integral role in The Crossing’s church community, according to the news release. (The Crossing received one of TSF’s initial loans after TSF’s founding in December 2010.)
Riggins earned a business degree from Western Illinois University and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking with an Executive Leadership Certificate. He has worked in banking for 16 years, serving recently as senior vice president with MidAmerica National Bank, headquartered in Canton, Ill.
In his new role, Riggins will spearhead TSF’s operational efforts in expanding God’s kingdom through loans and investments, according to the news release. He will oversee the field and construction teams while working closely with the executive team under Crozier’s guidance. Crozier will continue to lead TSF’s 40-plus staff members.
In August 2022, TSF announced it had reached $1 billion in total assets, helped more than 500 churches, seen growth of more than 150,000 in church attendance, and celebrated over 55,000 baptisms with its church partners.

Kentucky Christian University has called Jake Ratliff as their new campus minister. Since graduating from KCU in 2012, the Decatur, Ind., native has served with Highland Christian Church in Mason County, Ky., and as worship and young adult minister with Tollesboro Christian Church in Lewis County, Ky. Over the past decade, he has been a frequent campus visitor, volunteering his time to lead worship in chapel and working closely with the Worship Collective students. He and his wife, Grayson native Lela Jordan Ratliff, have three children.

Williamstown (Ky.) Christian Church celebrated the 100-year anniversary of the laying of their building’s cornerstone on Sunday. The church has been around since at least 1825. Barton W. Stone once preached there. The property for WCC’s original church building cost $300 and is the same site as the present church, according to an article in the Grant County News.

Doris Elaine Schreiber Odor, 95, who served with her husband, Ivan, at churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, died July 17, 2023. They were married 58 years until his death in 2009, a year after they moved to the Christian Village at Mason (Ohio), where she continued to reside. The Brookville, Ind., native graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1951. She and her husband both came from large farm families that produced many preachers and church leaders. She enjoyed practicing hospitality and encouraging members of the congregations they served. She was known as a person of strength and encouragement through the cards and letters she sent. She had two sons, Kent Carter and Kevin Carroll; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren (with another expected soon). Services were Monday in Mason, Ohio. Interment is at Williamstown (Ky.) “Life.Church’s YouVersion Bible App celebrated its 15-year anniversary this month,” the Christian Post reported this week. “[It is] on more than 575 million unique devices in nearly 2,000 languages and the digital popularity of the Word of God is showing no signs of slowing down.” The Bible App, one of 800 apps available when Apple opened its iOS App Store in July 2008, is now downloaded almost 100 times per minute.

The Chosen—a series about Jesus shown mainly on streaming platforms—was granted an exemption waiver to complete filming of the final two weeks of season four by the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Several of the actors in The Chosen are members of SAG–AFTRA, which is on strike. The series itself, however, is an independent, crowdfunded production that is not affiliated with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, with whom the labor union is negotiating, according to Religion News Service.
