On February 13, 2025, the board of trustees for Point University in West Point, GA, announced the selection of Dr. Stacy A. Bartlett as the university’s eight president and first female president.

Bartlett, who currently serves the university as chief of staff, will succeed Dean C. Collins, the current Point University president, who announced his intention to retire and transition into the role of university chancellor in the summer of 2025.

Bartlett’s appointment to the presidency of Point University came after an extensive national search. Following Collins’ announcement of resignation, Point launched its presidential search with the national firm FaithSearch Partners. They initially reached out to a pool of more than 1,000 individuals based on referrals and research, then had conversations with 40 candidates, leading to a smaller number of virtual and in-person interviews with the committee. During the process, Bartlett emerged as the clear leader.

“Stacy absolutely proved to be the best candidate,” said André Kennebrew, chair of Point’s board of trustees. “She could be president of any Christian college in the country. Her long-term dedication to Point, her mindset of executing, her involvement with innovation at Point, and her engagement with students, faculty, and staff all make her the ideal person for this role. She has been a faithful steward of all that’s been entrusted to her, and she has a clear vision for the future of where this university can go.”

Bartlett graduated from Point in 2005 and was the recipient of that year’s Hathcock Award, the highest honor the University bestows on a graduating senior. She went on to earn an MBA and a doctorate in higher education leadership. She is married to Jeremiah, a 2004 graduate of Point, who is director of digital strategies and marketing at Southside Church. The Bartletts have two young daughters, Reagan and Riley.

“I am humbled to be called to serve Point as president, and I am thankful to the search committee and the board for the opportunity,” said Bartlett. “I will be following in the footsteps of great leaders who have guided Point to where it is today. With the Lord’s help, I’m committed to working with the Point community to accomplish our mission of educating students for Christ-centered service and leadership around the world.”

“Dr. Bartlett is an exceptional leader who is deeply committed to the Lord and the mission of our institution,” said Amory Scott, Point trustee and chair of the search committee. “Thank you to the Presidential Search Committee for the many hours they have dedicated to this process, and to FaithSearch Partners for their tremendous help facilitating the search.”

Collins, who was not involved in the presidential search process, will leave office on June 30. As chancellor, he will continue to serve as an ambassador for the university and lead special projects. “Dr. Bartlett is perfectly suited to become the next president of Point University,” said Collins. “Her experience at Point, her doctoral studies in higher education, her deep faith, and her passion for continued learning throughout life make her a perfect fit. As I transition to the role of chancellor, I’m looking forward to seeing how God will use her to bring new energy and excellence to Point University.”
