Eastern European Mission (EEM) โ€” Organization Profile

Eastern European Mission (EEM) is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to putting Scripture into the hands of people who otherwise may not have access. Based in Hurst, Texas, EEM publishes, prints, and distributes Bibles and Bible-based materials at no cost to recipients, serving people and ministry partners across Eastern Europe and beyond.

EEM traces its beginnings to 1961, when missionary couples began taking Godโ€™s Word to people living under Soviet rule. In those decades, Bible access was often restricted, and EEMโ€™s work included underground printing and smuggling efforts until political barriers shifted in 1989. Over time, what began as a mission focused on Eastern Europe expanded into a broader distribution network that continues to prioritize language access and local partnerships.

Today, EEM states that it exists to place Godโ€™s Word into the hands of everyone who requests it, free of charge. Through a network of thousands of trusted partners, EEM supplies Scripture to a wide range of settingsโ€”local churches and ministries, public schools and universities, hospitals, prisons, youth camps, orphanages, and other community institutions. The organization also emphasizes that it works in dozens of languages so people can read the Bible in their heart language.

A distinctive in EEMโ€™s operating model is its emphasis on collaboration with in-region partners and logistics that enable wide distribution. EEM describes publishing and printing Bibles and Bible-based materials and distributing them through partner organizations, with an added focus on printing locally where possible as part of its strategy. This model is designed to support reliable delivery while aligning distribution with on-the-ground ministry relationships.

EEM invites supporters to participate through prayer, giving, and ongoing engagement with the mission. For recurring support, EEM offers the Hope Line Community, a monthly donor community that supports continued Bible distribution. EEM also highlights focused initiatives such as Bibles for Kids and resource projects like Envisioning Truth 499, along with regular impact reporting and media updates to help supporters understand where and how materials are being shared.
