Latin American Missions (LAM) โ€” Organization Profile

Latin American Missions (LAM) is a ministry focused on sharing the salvation found in Jesus Christ across Latin America through evangelistic campaigns and long-term investment in local congregations. The organization describes evangelism as its passion and works especially in places where the church is weak or non-existent, coordinating teams that partner with local believers for concentrated outreach and follow-up.

LAM is based in Valdosta, Georgia, operating as a ministry of the Forrest Park Church of Christ, and it serves Central America, South America, and the Caribbean through a mix of training, campaign-based outreach, and practical support. A central part of LAMโ€™s strategy is strengthening local leadership so that churches can continue growing after teams return home.

A primary emphasis is Native Preacher Training & Support through the Bible School of the Americas (BSA) in Panama City, Panama. LAM explains that many Christian men in Latin America are seeking training to preach and serve their communities more effectively. Through BSA, students receive preparation and then return to their home countries to nurture congregations and help establish new ones, with ongoing support and scholarships helping sustain that work.

LAM also organizes Medical Missions & Evangelistic Campaigns. These mobile medical clinics are designed to relieve physical ailments while intentionally creating opportunities for spiritual conversations and Bible study. LAM notes that during campaigns, each person who visits the clinic is offered the opportunity to study Godโ€™s Word, and that baptisms and new congregations often result from the evangelistic focus combined with compassionate care.

Another distinct effort is YES II, a campaign approach that trains and mobilizes youth groups to share the Word of God in everyday conversations throughout the campaign setting. In addition, LAM carries out benevolence outreach, especially during disasters, by providing familiar staple foodsโ€”such as rice, beans, flour, and oilโ€”and working through the local church to distribute supplies. This approach is intended to support local congregations, strengthen credibility in the community, and build relationships that open doors for continued ministry.

People and churches can engage with LAM by registering for campaigns, giving toward ongoing work (including support for BSA students), and participating in focused initiatives like the Skip-A-Meal Challenge, which encourages redirecting the cost of one restaurant meal per month to support student training. LAM also provides resources and newsletters in English and Spanish to help supporters stay connected to current needs, campaigns, and ministry updates.
