Scarlet Hope is seeking an experienced Director of Development to lead and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy that supports its mission of restoring hope and dignity to exploited and trafficked women. Reporting to the Vice President and working closely with the Founder, this role is both strategic and hands-on. The Director of Development will help translate Scarlet Hope’s vision into a disciplined, data-informed fundraising operation by strengthening existing systems, stewarding donor relationships, and helping the organization mature its development efforts for long-term sustainability. This is a remote role with frequent travel to Louisville, Kentucky, and regular travel to meet with donors, church partners, and other key stakeholders. The organization is looking for a spiritually mature leader who aligns with Scarlet Hope’s Christ-centered evangelical mission and can represent the ministry with integrity to faith-based partners.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Leading and executing a comprehensive advancement strategy to support the organization’s mission.
- Reporting to the Vice President while working in close partnership with the Founder.
- Strengthening fundraising systems and helping build a more disciplined, data-informed development operation.
- Assessing and improving the donor pipeline.
- Bringing rigor and consistency to moves management.
- Carrying a personal portfolio of mid-major and major donors, including both households and churches.
- Collaborating closely with operations and communications teams to support fundraising growth and sustainability.
- Helping translate Scarlet Hope’s vision into practical development strategy and execution.

- Comfort using data, systems, and clear next steps to guide fundraising activity.
- Ability to work effectively alongside a visionary founder by adding structure, follow-through, and scalability.
- Deep theological alignment with Scarlet Hope’s Christ-centered evangelical mission.
- Comfort representing the organization both virtually and in person across a variety of relationship-building settings.
