Next month, Lincoln (IL) Christian University and Seminary will begin holding classes for its new Master of Arts degree in bioethics. The off-campus program will be taught at the Methodist Medical Center of Illinois in Peoria and will also include online components and some clinical experiences.

LCU&S designed the program for three groups of students: health care professionals (physicians, nurses, paramedics, medical school students in residence, and hospital administrators); pastors, chaplains, and counselors; and others working in related fields, including pharmaceutical representatives, hospital legal counsels, and graduate theology, philosophy, or political science students.

The program will “produce professionals, especially in the fields of medicine and ministry, who can think and live critically, compassionately, and Christianly in the area of bioethics,” the school shares. “It will provide students with the foundational orientation, skills, and clinical experiences that are critical to the development of core competencies in bioethics, taught from a Christian worldview perspective.”

Lest anyone be confused or wondering if there’s been another name change, the name of the sponsoring academic institution is simply “Lincoln Christian University,” not “Lincoln Christian University and Seminary.” The Seminary is a part of LCU.
