When the North American Christian Convention advertises itself as “the connecting place,” it’s not false advertising! Just try getting through the halls quickly from one event to another. Inevitably you’ll be stopped by people you know, friends from former ministries, or old college classmates. And if you’re not stopped, you may be doing the stopping as you see a favorite college professor, the guest preacher who visited your church, or the workshop leader who gave your church a new vision for ministry.
Happy chatter is the norm in the hallways, around the exhibits, in the elevators, and before and after every session. And if you don’t know the person you sit beside when you begin a session, there’s a good chance you’ll be acquainted by the time the hour is finished.
Some of this sharing is spontaneous and off-the-cuff. And some of it is intentional and planned. The Ministry Networking Breakfasts, for example, bring ministry leaders together for discussions about everything from church planting to worship, from family ministry to church administration.
About 300 gathered for the event at 7:30 this morning. The room was full. The discussion was rich. The help was generously shared and eagerly sought.
Milligan College and Standard Publishing have cosponsored these breakfasts for several years now, because we want to facilitate one of the convention’s most important contributions: it’s all about the connections!
