Green has been serving as LCU”s transitional president since June 1. Though he has been acting with the full authority and responsibility of the office since June, his official tenure begins immediately.

Green is a graduate of Lincoln Christian University (BA from the former Lincoln Christian College and MDiv from Lincoln Christian Seminary) and earned his DMin from the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL.

Green has been an integral part of the Lincoln Christian community for 47 years, and has gained the respect of the LCU community as a servant leader. Since 1979, he has served in the roles of trustee, administrative assistant to the president, director of development, executive vice president, vice president of church development, and transitional president.

“I am both honored and humbled to accept the call to serve our students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and churches in this way at this time,” Green said. “With God”s help, I look forward to seeing that the mission of LCU is faithfully fulfilled as new generations of Lincoln Leaders are equipped to serve the church and impact the world for Christ.”

Board chair Dr. Gene Harker said Green was selected after a national search.

“It is clear that Dr. Green is the best fit for our university,” Harker said. “He is a trusted visionary with a servant”s heart and he brings many years of higher-education experience and successful leadership to the office.”

Dr. Neal Windham, who served as a faculty representative on the search advisory team, said, “Honestly, we could not have chosen a more qualified person for the job.”

Green served in full-time preaching ministry before becoming part of the LCU administrative team in 1982. He continues to be in demand as a speaker and church consultant, and will share the podium with national author Mark Mittelberg at LCU”s Elders” and Church Leaders Conference on Feb. 21.

Green and his wife, Margaret, have been married for 45 years and live in Lincoln. Their daughter, Lara, lives in Springfield, IL, with her husband, Jon Morrissette, who serves as lead minister with the Lakeside Christian Church.

Lincoln Christian University is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year as it continues its mission to equip Christians to serve and lead in the church, the workplace, and the world. LCU offers a variety of degree programs for undergraduate, graduate, and seminary students. To learn more, visit www.lincolnchristian.edu.
