Christian colleges have been offering numerous opportunities for fellowship and spiritual enrichment throughout the spring. We found some additional activities being offered over the next several weeks that weren’t part of the original list we posted Feb. 6. Below is an updated chronological listing of events yet to happen.
“Love Your Story . . . Embrace His Glory,” the Lincoln (Ill.) Christian Women’s Conference, is scheduled for April 24. Featured speakers will include Debbie Strater Sempsrott and Sheila Walsh. Learn more at lincolnchristian.edu.
Great Lakes Christian College, Lansing, Mich., will host a Women’s Spring Celebration at 6:30 p.m. April 26. The theme: “He Is.” The speaker will be Carrie Long, a GLCC alumnus who has served as a children’s minister and public school teacher. Tickets are $20. Learn more at www.glcc.edu.
Boise (Idaho) Bible College’s Spring Conference will be May 14-16. “Bridge the Gap” is the theme. Speakers will be Matt Moore, teaching pastor at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria, Ariz.; Matt Ahearn, high school pastor at Eagle (Idaho) Christian Church; and Bruce Thacker, preaching minister at Shelton (Wash.) Johnson University–Tennessee in Knoxville is planning three “Senior Saints in the Smokies” events this year featuring LeRoy Lawson as speaker and L. Thomas Smith Jr. as Bible study leader. Ozark Christian College, Joplin, Mo., is planning a “We Are Christ’s Ambassadors” conference for May 27-31 in Branson, Mo. The gathering is planned specifically for people 55 and older. A one-day Seniors-by-the-Sea Conference is slated for Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Elizabeth City, N.C., on June 4. Jay Banks will develop the theme, “What Have I Done Now? The Front Line Men’s Conference will take place June 28 and 29 at Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Elizabeth City, N.C. The conference is cosponsored by Eastern North Carolina Iron Sharpens Iron and the Eastern North Carolina Men’s Fellowship. Cost is $25 and guests will stay in the MACU dorms. The speaker will be Master Chief Butch Flythe, a U.S. Coast Guard retiree who also served as a technical adviser on the film The Guardian. Learn more at www.macuniversity.edu.
Great Lakes Christian College is planning “Boost—A Retreat for Ministers” for July 15-17. “We want to give a ‘BOOST’ to those who have committed their lives to ministry in the local church,” the college reports.
