Christian Universities Switch to Online Instruction

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused our Christian colleges and universities to switch from in-person learning to various forms of Internet instruction or “distance delivery.” Here is a listing of the colleges with very brief explanations of what each has done and links for more information:

Alberta Bible College (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)—Campus is closed until further notice. Classes are running on their normal schedule, but now remotely, via Zoom. More information

Boise Bible College (Boise, Idaho)—Boise Bible College has scaled back to critical services only. All students were to move out of residential housing by Saturday, March 28. Classes will take place using the Zoom platform. More information

Carolina Christian College (Winston-Salem, N.C.)—Classes resumed in an online format on March 23. Classes will end at their originally scheduled time. More information

Central Christian College of the Bible (Moberly, Mo.)—Classes will continue online through the end of the semester. 2020 Commencement services have been rescheduled for Sept. 4. More information

Dallas Christian College (Dallas, Texas)—Classes have been online only since March 23. There will be no classes on campus until further notice. More information

Great Lakes Christian College (Lansing, Mich.)—No face-to-face classes through the end of the spring semester. All classes are now delivered online. A decision about Commencement will occur at a later time. More information

Hope International University (Fullerton, Calif.)—The Fullerton and Anaheim campuses will remain closed until further notice. Starting Monday, March 30, classes will be taught online through the rest of the semester. More information

Johnson University (Knoxville, Tenn., and Kissimmee, Fla.)—Both campuses have switched to remote instruction for the rest of the semester. May commencement has been canceled. More information

Kentucky Christian University (Grayson, Ky.)—All onsite classes will be converted to online courses for the rest of the spring term beginning March 30. More information

Lincoln Christian University (Lincoln, Ill.)—All students were told to leave residence halls by March 22. All instruction will occur online through to the end of the semester. More information

Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, Kan.)—All classes resumed Monday, March 23, with in-person classes transitioning to online delivery methods for the rest of the semester. More information

Maritime Christian College (Charlottetown, P.E.I., Canada)—All in-person classes are suspended for the rest of this semester, with alternate arrangements for online classes being made. More information

Mid-Atlantic Christian University (Elizabeth City, N.C.)—The campus remains closed. Classes and chapel are ongoing via online format. The school was hoping to reopen campus for student on April 13 and for in-person classes to resume April 14. More information

Mid-South Christian College (Memphis, Tenn.)—As of March 21, many of the college’s students had returned to their homes to continue their classes online. However, most international students remained on campus, and the school requested food donations for them. More information

Milligan College/Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan (Milligan College, Tenn.)—As of Monday, March 23, classes are officially online and will continue online through the end of the spring semester. Campus is closed until at least April 6. More information

Nebraska Christian College (Papillion, Neb.)—The college is moving to an online format for all courses for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester. More information

Northwest Christian University (Eugene, Ore.)—Classes have transitioned to online and commencement will be rescheduled. More information

Ozark Christian College (Joplin, Mo.)—Starting Monday, March 30, classes have transitioned to an online format through the end of the spring semester. More information

Point University (West Point, Ga.)—Classes will take place online through the end of the spring semester. More information

St. Louis Christian College (Florissant, Mo.)—Campus is closed and all classes have switched to online. More information

Summit Christian College (Gering, Neb.)—All classes switched to online beginning March 23. More information

TCM International Institute (Indianapolis)—On March 18, it was announced that Sessions 1 and 2 of the academic year (slated to begin in March and April, respectively) at the main teaching facility in Vienna, Austria, will take place “via distance delivery.” That facility teaches students from nearly 50 countries. William Jessup University (Rocklin, Calif.)—Jessup has transitioned to remote teaching for all classes that met at the Rocklin and San Jose campuses, effective March 23 through the end of the semester. More information
