News Briefs

High Hill (Mo.) Christian Camp & Retreat Center is undergoing upgrades as part of its “We Believe” fundraising campaign and expansion project. The project includes adding a multipurpose building, Oak Lodge (which will sleep 60 when completed), a log cabin (which is mostly complete and sleeps 24), and a new maintenance building.

“2020 was a hard year for so many, [and] the camp was no exception to that,” camp director John Hancock said via video at High Hill’s Facebook page. “But the fundraising effort was nothing short of miraculous. We had almost $200,000 given to the We Believe project last year.”

While there is still almost $1 million left to raise, Hancock expressed confidence moving forward. The video shares images and time-lapse photography of several projects that are underway.

Lifeway Research surveyed 1,000 Protestant churchgoers in the United States and found that, when COVID-19 is no longer an active threat to people’s health, 91 percent plan to attend in-person worship services at least as often as they did before the pandemic.

Few regular churchgoers (6 percent) said they will attend less than before; only 2 percent said they will rarely attend, and just 1 percent said they plan to stop attending in-person services completely.

The article, “U.S. Churchgoers Say They’ll Return Post-COVID,” and complete survey results are available here.
