Ozark Christian College created videos to honor three longtime employees who are retiring after this school year. Gerald Griffin, professor of speech and Old and New Testament, has served Ozark for over two decades. David McMillin, vice president of campus operations, has served OCC for 34 years. Gary Zustiak, counseling and pastoral care professor, taught students at OCC for over three decades. (Click on their names to see the videos honoring their service.)

Salina Heights Christian Church in Salina, Kan., hosted a bed-building event Saturday to help serve children in foster care. The church partners with an organization called CarePortal, which works with foster care agencies to satisfy various needs. Another bed-building event is tentatively set for later this year, the Salina Journal reported.

In just its second year fielding a squad, the STUNT team at William Jessup University in Rocklin, Calif., hosted—and won—the NAIA Division of the 2022 College STUNT National Championship. A local TV station’s interview with the champions is posted on WJU’s Facebook page. According to the sport’s website, “STUNT . . . removes the crowd-leading element and focuses on the technical and athletic components of cheer, including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, group jumps and tumbling.”

After 37 years of service, Richard Major is retiring as professor of theatre and director of drama productions at Milligan University in Tennessee. Just before finals week, the inaugural Richard Major Awards celebrating excellence in Milligan Theatre were handed out, with 16 students recognized for outstanding achievements in this year’s productions. Meanwhile, Major was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award for his prominent role in shaping Milligan’s theatrical program.

Almost 500 people participated in South Rock Christian Church’s “Great Day of Service 2022” on May 1. Church members helped with projects at more than 50 locations around Derby, Kan., according to an article in the Derby Informer.

The event “is [a] chance to build relationships with others in the community by showing them our relationship with Jesus through actions,” said outreach pastor Cameron Wilson.

Christian minister Dave Stone asked for prayers via Instagram last week for his son-in-law, Aaron, who has been recovering since collapsing near mile-marker 25 in the Magnolia Marathon in Waco, Texas, on April 24.

Historic Canton, Ohio, Church to Open New Campus

After two years of strong growth, First Christian Church in Canton, Ohio, is expanding. The historic church—once led by P. H. Welshimer—hopes to open its first campus location this fall. The church in November spent $2.1 million on a 33,000-square-foot building on 5 acres on the southwest side of Canton. . . .
