GNPI (Good News Productions, International) and RedeemTV (a faith-based streaming platform) are partnering to present the ICOM Student Film Festival Nov. 4 at the International Conference On Missions in Columbus, Ohio.
The festival is open to all high school and college students. Select entries will be shown to RedeemTV’s 200,000-plus subscribers. RedeemTV’s audience will select the Audience Choice Award from among the nominees, and industry professionals will present chosen films with trophies and cash prizes in such categories as Best in Festival Award, Best Drama Award, Best Documentary Award, ICOM Missions Award, Best High School Production Award, and others.
RedeemTV, which is dedicated to bringing hope and light to people in darkness, is a ministry of Vision Video and Christian History Institute. All festival applicants are offered complimentary registration to ICOM (Nov. 3-5).

Eli Cramer, a student-athlete at Milligan University who was killed March 31 when struck by a vehicle during a training run in Virginia, is remembered in the current edition of Milligan magazine. The magazine shared the following:
“What started as a high school dare became part of Eli Cramer’s legacy. Ditching the standard racing singlet at a high school meet, Cramer sported a white T-shirt on which he wrote with permanent marker, ‘Your mom’s favorite runner,’ after the mother of a competitor complimented him on his previous run.
“YMFR quickly became one of Cramer’s favorite catchphrases and spoke of his fun-loving personality. . . .
“Following his death, #YMFR quickly became part of how the Milligan community and beyond celebrated and remembered Cramer’s life. At the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships, Milligan’s . . . team wore identical YMFR shirts. . . .
“Collegiate competitors and high schools across the nation began racing with ‘YMFR’ written on their backs and shoes in response to the tragedy. . . .”
“Artiken, a well-known brand in the running community, . . . [began] offering a special handmade YMFR edition [bracelet] in Cramer’s memory.”

Sibling organizations RENEW.org and Discipleship.org will partner for a three-day event Oct. 4 to 6 at Church of Christ in Nashville, Tenn. The one-day RENEW gathering will be Oct. 4, followed by the two-day National Disciple Making Forum (Oct. 5-6) sponsored by Discipleship.org.
The groups’ difference? RENEW.org focuses on theology, while Discipleship.org focuses on methodology. Both organizations are led by Bobby Harrington.

Financial Planning Ministry—a nonprofit partnership of national charities dedicated to providing a path to sound biblical stewardship through donor estate planning—had its 40th anniversary celebration at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim, Calif., on July 20.
FPM serves 143 ministry partners, including numerous Christian churches, educational institutions, and ministries. FPM announced several milestones during the gala, including: working and serving in all 50 states (having recently added Louisiana), serving more than 40,000 families with estate planning, and raising more than $2.1 billion in expectancies.
FPM honored several of its partners last week, including CDF Capital, which received the Outstanding Stewardship Award. CDF Capital has received over $1 million in estate gifts and more than $12 million in expectancies during its 40-year partnership with FPM.

Gail Boatman, the widow of former Ozark Christian College president Don Earl Boatman, died earlier this month at age 108. Current OCC president Matt Proctor wrote a tribute to Mrs. Boatman at occ.edu.

Alberta Bible College in Canada is planning a special 90th anniversary celebration Sept. 16-18. More details will be forthcoming, but the school is asking alums and supporters to set aside that weekend.
