Church of Christ on Fishinger Road in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Campus Minister to serve college students and help connect them with the life and work of the congregation. The position is viewed as an outreach mission to the campus community and is intended to be fully integrated into the church’s overall ministry.
Fishinger Road is a conservative Church of Christ congregation of approximately 400 members with a long history of ministry among students at The Ohio State University and other colleges in central Ohio. The congregation maintains an active college ministry presence near campus and seeks to provide students with opportunities for biblical growth, Christian community, outreach, and involvement in the local church.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Engaging college students and developing relationships within the campus community.
- Helping students become connected to and actively involved in the congregation.
- Supporting and growing the church’s outreach mission to The Ohio State University and other central Ohio colleges.
- Providing ministry, discipleship, and spiritual encouragement to college students.
- Using social media and digital platforms to communicate with students and promote the campus ministry.
- Working as an integrated part of the congregation’s broader ministry and outreach efforts.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- A bachelor’s degree from a Church of Christ–affiliated university or a certificate from a school of preaching.
- A completed or in-progress master’s degree is considered a plus.
- Previous ministry experience is preferred.
- Missionary or outreach experience is also considered a plus.
- Strong communication skills, including experience using social media and digital platforms to promote and grow ministry.
