Journey Christian Church in Midlothian, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Director of Operations to provide senior leadership for the churchโs operational infrastructure. This role will help align administrative, financial, facility, human resources, technology, and compliance functions in support of Journeyโs mission, vision, values, and beliefs.
The Director of Operations will serve as a member of the executive leadership team and will work closely with the Senior Pastor, Elder Board, ministry leaders, staff, and outside vendors. This position calls for a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills, proven financial and operational experience, and a heart for ministry and disciple making.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Contributing to strategic planning, goal setting, evaluation, decision-making, and process improvement.
- Translating church vision into operational strategies and systems that support ministry effectiveness and growth.
- Preparing Operations executive summaries for Elder Board meetings and serving as Corporate Secretary.
- Working with the Senior Pastor and leaders to develop and manage the annual budget while serving as Church Treasurer.
- Overseeing financial reporting, audits, compliance protocols, contributions, accounts payable, payroll, transactions, bank accounts, investments, and funds.
- Supervising HR processes, salary and benefits administration, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employment-law compliance.
- Overseeing technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, communication systems, vendor relationships, facilities, maintenance, safety, security, scheduling, construction, renovations, and capital improvements.
- Managing legal, insurance, risk management, emergency response, crisis planning, child protection, and safety protocols.
