Gore Boulevard Church of Christ in Lawton, Oklahoma, is seeking a faithful, spiritually mature, and dedicated full-time Preacher/Minister. The congregation is committed to following the New Testament as closely as possible in its teaching and practice and desires a minister who loves God’s Word, cares sincerely for people, and will help strengthen the church while reaching the surrounding community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Preacher/Minister will serve as the congregation’s primary preacher and Bible teacher while working cooperatively with church leadership and members. The successful candidate should communicate Scripture clearly, lead by Christian example, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate compassion, dependability, and approachability.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Preparing and delivering biblically sound sermons for Sunday worship services.
- Teaching Bible classes and assisting with additional teaching opportunities.
- Maintaining regular Bible study, sermon preparation, and personal spiritual development.
- Encouraging members in spiritual growth, Christian service, and evangelism.
- Providing biblical counseling, hospital visits, encouragement, and support to members and families.
- Conducting weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other services as requested.
- Welcoming visitors and building relationships within the congregation.
- Participating in community outreach and identifying opportunities to reach Lawton and surrounding communities.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- Faithful Christian membership in the church of Christ.
- Strong biblical knowledge and commitment to sound doctrine.
- Ability to prepare organized, understandable, and engaging sermons and Bible lessons.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to visit and encourage those who are sick, homebound, grieving, or facing difficult circumstances.
- Ministry or preaching experience, preferably in a full-time or part-time preaching role.
- Formal Bible education or ministry training is preferred but not required when supported by suitable experience and biblical knowledge.
- Willingness to relocate to or live within reasonable driving distance of Lawton.
Compensation is $50,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience, with two to four weeks of vacation. Applicants should submit a résumé, cover letter, references, recent sermon recordings when available, and a brief statement of biblical beliefs and ministry philosophy.
