Nashville Christian Church in Nashville, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to serve as the church’s primary pastor, communicator, visionary leader, and spiritual shepherd. Founded in April 1888, Nashville Christian Church is an independent Restoration Movement Christian church with a congregation of approximately 125–150 people. The church’s mission is, “We help people take their next step in following Jesus.”
The Lead Pastor will work alongside the elders to guide the church’s vision and provide overall leadership to the congregation and staff team. This role includes preaching, pastoral care, leadership development, discipleship, community outreach, compassion ministry, and the development of healthy ministry systems that support the church’s mission.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing spiritual leadership for the congregation.
- Leading and overseeing the worship team.
- Teaching or leading supplemental growth opportunities as appropriate.
- Developing and carrying out a ministry plan aligned with the church’s established vision.
- Supporting spiritual formation, congregational development, and missional outreach to the Nashville community.
- Providing pastoral care, including hospital calls, weddings, counseling, and funerals.
- Working with the elder team in casting and implementing vision.
- Leading, managing, discipling, and mentoring ministerial and office staff.
- Serving as an active liaison for Nashville Christian Church in the local community.
- Completing other duties as assigned.

- A heartfelt calling to full-time Christian ministry.
- Strong people skills and a servant-leadership approach.
- Primary gifts in preaching, pastoral ministry, care, and leadership.
- Knowledge of leadership development and intergenerational ministry.
- Ability to plan, organize, and follow through.
- Ministerial experience in a growing church preferred.
- Ordination in the Independent Christian Church preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in biblical studies from a Christian college or seminary associated with the independent Christian Churches of the Stone-Campbell Movement preferred.
