Nashville Christian Church in Nashville, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to serve as the primary pastor, communicator, spiritual shepherd, and visionary leader of the congregation. Founded in 1888 as an independent Restoration Movement Christian Church, NCC serves approximately 125–150 people and is committed to helping people take their next step in following Jesus.
The Lead Pastor will work closely with the elder team to guide the church, provide overall leadership to the staff, and foster healthy ministries of evangelism, discipleship, community outreach, compassion, leadership development, and pastoral care. The Lead Pastor reports to the NCC elder team.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide spiritual leadership and oversee the worship team.
- Preach, teach, and lead supplemental spiritual growth opportunities as appropriate.
- Develop and implement a ministry plan aligned with the church’s established vision.
- Promote spiritual formation within the congregation and missional outreach throughout the Nashville community.
- Provide pastoral care, including hospital visits, weddings, counseling, and funerals.
- Partner with the elder team in casting and implementing vision.
- Lead, manage, disciple, and mentor ministerial and office staff.
- Serve as an active representative of Nashville Christian Church in the local community.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- A heartfelt calling to full-time Christian ministry and a commitment to servant leadership.
- Strong preaching, pastoral care, leadership, interpersonal, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Experience in leadership development and an intergenerational approach to ministry.
- Preferred experience serving in a growing, multi-staff church environment.
- Preferred ordination within the Independent Christian Church.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree or higher in biblical studies from a Christian college or seminary associated with the independent Christian Churches of the Stone-Campbell Movement.
