Cedar Falls Christian Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa, is seeking a full-time Preaching Minister to serve a Restoration Movement congregation committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ. This role centers on biblical preaching, pastoral care, spiritual leadership, and helping the church strengthen its witness in the local community.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Preaching during Sunday services and special services as requested
- Preparing sermons, themes, and teaching plans consistent with the church’s mission and long-range direction
- Teaching Bible study classes when requested
- Providing personal support and counseling as appropriate
- Participating in small groups as needed
- Attending elders’ meetings, church business meetings, and other necessary leadership gatherings
- Working alongside the elders to uphold doctrinal integrity in all ministries
- Building relationships within the congregation and throughout the surrounding community
- Offering encouragement and referral support to those with practical or personal needs
Expectations and qualifications include:
- A growing and contagious personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- A clear calling to ministry with a passion for evangelism and outreach
- Commitment to New Testament Christianity and the authority of Scripture
- Qualifications consistent with the biblical standards for church leadership in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:7–9
- Strong preaching, teaching, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Restoration Bible College training or comparable ministry background
- Ability to help develop and carry out long-term ministry vision with congregational leaders
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience and includes paid vacation, holidays, mileage reimbursement, business expense reimbursement, and a designated housing allowance.
