Senior Minister

Lifebridge Christian Church in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking a full-time Senior Minister to lead a warm, mission-minded congregation with the vision of “Becoming Like Jesus.” Founded in 1972, Lifebridge is a close-knit church of approximately 50 members with a blended worship style, instrumental music, and deep roots in the Independent Christian Church heritage.

The Senior Minister will serve under the oversight of the eldership and leadership team while providing preaching, pastoral care, discipleship leadership, staff coordination, and mission-focused direction for the congregation. The church is located in North Alabama, about 20 miles from Huntsville, in a growing region with opportunities for community engagement and ministry growth.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Preaching clear, Bible-based Sunday morning sermons with practical application.
• Leading the church’s discipleship efforts and supporting small groups.
• Coordinating church staff in support of the church’s mission and vision.
• Providing pastoral care, including counseling, spiritual guidance, baptisms, hospital visits, weddings, and funerals.
• Representing Lifebridge at community events and building relationships beyond the church walls.
• Championing local, regional, and global mission work and evangelism.
• Leading Sunday morning and special services in coordination with the music minister.
• Recruiting, training, and developing ministry team leaders.
• Overseeing day-to-day church operations in coordination with staff and elders.

• A community- and missions-minded heart for outreach.
• Strong leadership and staff-management ability.
• Experience in the Independent Christian Church, with three or more years of ministry preferred.
• Graduation from an Independent Christian Church-affiliated or Restoration Movement college preferred.
• A proven track record of spiritual growth and ministry development.

This is a full-time role requiring approximately 40 hours per week, including Sunday services and regular office availability. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a housing allowance, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
