Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia, is seeking Christian educators to serve as Teacher & Residential Hall Parents. This full-time ministry role combines classroom instruction with residential care, giving teachers the opportunity to help students grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially within a Christ-centered home, school, and church community. Current teaching priorities include English, Math, and Science.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Teaching assigned classes in alignment with Mountain Mission Schoolโs curriculum, educational goals, and Christian mission.
- Developing lesson plans and using effective instructional strategies to meet individual and small-group learning needs.
- Integrating a biblical worldview into classroom instruction and student formation.
- Evaluating student progress, maintaining appropriate records, and helping students develop strong study habits and personal responsibility.
- Building Christ-centered relationships with students and encouraging their academic, spiritual, emotional, and social development.
- Helping create a safe, structured, and home-like residential environment through daily care, guidance, discipline, prayer, devotions, and encouragement.
- Supporting students with homework, personal routines, social development, recreation, transitions, and healthy emotional expression.
- Collaborating with teachers, hall parents, administrators, families, and other ministry staff.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- A committed Christian faith and alignment with the mission, values, and doctrinal commitments of Mountain Mission School.
- A bachelorโs degree and previous experience working with students.
- Strong communication, organization, planning, mentoring, teamwork, and adaptability.
- Ability to integrate biblical truth into teaching and daily student relationships.
- U.S. work authorization.
- An education degree, teaching experience, ACSI certification, state licensure, and First Aid/CPR certification are preferred.
