Church of Christ on Fishinger Road in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Youth and Family Minister to begin serving in 2026. This position is available because the congregationโs current Youth and Family Minister is transitioning into its preaching ministry. The new minister will be fully integrated into the life and work of the church, helping middle school and high school students develop a strong, lasting faith while equipping parents to guide the spiritual development of their families.
Fishinger Road is a conservative Church of Christ congregation of approximately 400 members with an active and growing youth program. The Youth and Family Minister will collaborate closely with elders, deacons, parents, evangelists, and other members to provide biblical teaching, meaningful activities, outreach opportunities, and pathways for young people to participate in the wider life of the congregation.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinating Bible class curriculum for middle school and high school students.
- Teaching Bible classes and other youth-focused lessons regularly.
- Planning retreats, mission trips, youth devotionals, and fellowship activities.
- Helping organize and lead youth involvement in Vacation Bible School.
- Developing outreach opportunities for students and families.
- Equipping parents to support faith formation within their homes.
- Working alongside the congregationโs evangelists in the churchโs overall ministry.
- Using social media and digital platforms to communicate with families and promote youth activities.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- A bachelorโs degree from a Church of Christโaffiliated university or a certificate from a school of preaching.
- A completed or in-progress masterโs degree is preferred but not required.
- Ministry experience is preferred, particularly experience involving youth, families, or outreach.
- A demonstrated love for teenagers and their families.
- Strong biblical teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using social media and digital tools to communicate and grow a youth ministry.
