Tavriski Christian Institute (TCI) — Organization Profile
Tavriski Christian Institute, commonly known as TCI, is a Christian educational and mission-training organization connected with Ukraine and ministry across the former Soviet Union. Partner churches and mission organizations describe TCI as an evangelical institution focused on continuing biblical education, ministry preparation, and leadership training. The organization’s correct website is listed publicly as mission.org.ua.
TCI’s work centers on training ministers, missionaries, church planters, pastors, evangelists, and local Christian leaders for long-term service. Partner descriptions identify TCI as a ministry that provides certificate and degree programs, including training designed for students who cannot relocate for a traditional four-year program. Its educational work is practical in focus, preparing leaders who can serve churches, guide new ministries, and strengthen Christian witness in difficult contexts.
The organization serves students and ministry leaders connected with Ukraine, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. Partner updates describe TCI’s ministry as extending into former Soviet Union countries and several Central Asian contexts where Christianity faces restrictions. Public partner information specifically names Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Georgia among regions connected with TCI’s training and ministry reach.
TCI’s educational approach includes structured biblical training, pastoral preparation, church-planting formation, youth ministry training, and ongoing mentoring. One partner description identifies a Certificate Youth Course for men and women preparing to work with teens and young adults, along with a Certificate Pastor Training Program made up of eight courses over two years for pastors, evangelists, and local missionaries. Other partner descriptions emphasize TCI’s continuing support of leaders after training through coaching and ministry relationships.
The war in Ukraine has deeply affected TCI’s work. Partner updates report that in March 2022, TCI’s property in eastern Ukraine was seized by Russian troops, with facilities including offices, dormitories, and a large library destroyed or lost. After that disruption, TCI relocated its operations and resumed training students while also taking part in humanitarian efforts for war-affected communities. Updates in 2025 reported that TCI had moved operations to a more permanent facility in Kyiv and continued preparing graduates for ministry.
People can engage TCI by praying for its students, teachers, and ministry partners; supporting theological education in Ukraine and Central Asia; connecting through the organization’s website; or giving through partner organizations that publicly support TCI’s work. Churches interested in global missions, leadership development, and ministry training in restricted or underserved regions may find TCI’s work connected to long-term pastoral preparation, church planting, youth ministry, and humanitarian service.
