Living Water Christian Mission is a Christian mission located in Gonaives, Haiti, with U.S. support coordinated through Moberly, Missouri. The mission serves Jesus in Gonaives and surrounding communities through churches, schools, health care, nutrition, vocational training, farming, and short-term mission partnerships.
The organization’s core focus is relieving physical and spiritual poverty, primarily in Haiti, through church planting, education, nutrition, health care, and work-training programs. Its mission statement connects this work with the Great Commission, emphasizing evangelism, sound teaching, disciple making, and transformation into the likeness of Christ.
Living Water Christian Mission serves Gonaives, Haiti, and other Haitian communities including Marmelade, Bassin Bilé, and Morne Blanc. The ministry began in 2003 with a growing church and a small school of 17 students. In 2009, it expanded to a church and school in Bassin Bilé near Marmelade, and in 2012 it planted a church in Morne Blanc in northern Gonaives.
The mission operates multiple connected ministries under Haitian leadership. It operates three churches and assists three others, provides two elementary schools, one traditional high school, one high school for adults, a professional and technical training center, a farm, and a health clinic. The mission also supports the Christian Biblical Seminary of the Caribbean, which currently meets at one of the schools while future seminary development is planned on farmland.
A distinctive part of Living Water Christian Mission’s work is combining Haitian-led church ministry with education, medical care, student sponsorship, vocational training, farming, and practical service projects. Its schools and student sponsorship efforts help provide meals and education for children, while the health clinic serves neighborhood residents who might otherwise lack access to care. The farm and professional training efforts are part of the mission’s broader work-training and sustainability focus.
People can engage with Living Water Christian Mission by praying, giving, sponsoring a student, donating through the giving catalog, supporting Rice and Beans for Kids, subscribing to the newsletter, or participating in short-term mission trips. Visiting teams may help with construction, medical clinic service, teaching, preaching, or other work around mission properties, with group leaders asked to apply in advance so visits can be scheduled and hosted well.
