ELIC is based in Fort Collins, Colorado, with additional offices in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, and Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Its educators serve across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, China, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Morocco, Thailand, Tunisia, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. ELIC began sending teachers to China in 1982 and now offers teaching opportunities in universities, K–12 schools, language centers, community centers, and teacher-training settings.
The organization’s core focus is English education as a pathway for meaningful global service, cultural engagement, and relationship-building. ELIC works through partnerships with governments and educational institutions, placing professional educators in settings where English instruction is needed and where teachers can serve with excellence, humility, and cultural sensitivity. Teachers may serve for a few weeks, nine months, or one year or longer.
ELIC’s programs include short-term Engage opportunities, the Global Ambassador Program, and longer-term Legacy teaching placements. Engage provides team-based summer teaching opportunities for people serving two to eight weeks. The Global Ambassador Program is a nine-month mentorship and cross-cultural development program in locations such as Thailand, Tunisia, and Uzbekistan. Legacy is ELIC’s one-year-or-longer teaching program for university campuses, K–12 schools, and language centers.
The organization also provides substantial support for educators before, during, and after overseas service. ELIC’s process includes inquiry, application, interview, preparation, pre-departure training, support development, team placement, and ongoing care while overseas. Services include orientation, health and safety assistance, visa and travel guidance, personal support, insurance, financial advising, newsletter support, alumni care, and team-based field leadership.
People can engage with ELIC by applying to work overseas as professional educators, exploring short-term or long-term teaching opportunities, joining the Global Ambassador Program, giving financially, inviting ELIC’s president or team members to speak, reading Field Notes, connecting with alumni resources, or contacting the organization for more information. ELIC also offers career opportunities for people interested in North American office support and mobilization work.

EQUIP Conference (Florida) — Organization Profile EQUIP Conference is a lectureship-style Bible workshop designed to equip churches, church leadership, and church members to make disciples for Jesus. Hosted in Central Florida and commonly known as “EQUIP Orlando,” the conference provides a structured environment for worship, Scripture study, and practical training that local congregations can carry back into everyday ministry. EQUIP’s content is intentionally broad and ministry-facing. The conference describes its goal as biblically engaging topics that churches regularly face, including leadership development, disciple-making, marriage and family, intergenerational ministry, church and culture, apologetics and worldview, and teacher training. Rather than focusing on a single audience, EQUIP is built as a multi-track learning event where attendees can choose sessions that match their…
EQUIP Conference is a lectureship-style Bible workshop designed to equip churches, church leadership, and church members to make disciples for Jesus.
Rather than focusing on a single audience, EQUIP is built as a multi-track learning event where attendees can choose sessions that match their role and season—whether they are ministers, elders, teachers, parents, young adults, or simply Christians wanting to grow in maturity.
A consistent emphasis is accessibility for whole congregations. EQUIP describes itself as a free event for the whole family, and it organizes programming for multiple age groups, including sessions for children and teenagers alongside adult classes. This structure helps families attend together while still receiving age-appropriate instruction, and it makes it feasible for churches to encourage broad participation without creating a specialized “leaders only” experience.
EQUIP also highlights the value of gathering churches in one place for encouragement and shared learning. Beyond scheduled classes, the conference functions as a fellowship point where attendees can connect with Christians from other congregations, compare notes on ministry challenges, and return home with practical ideas for strengthening worship, discipleship, and teaching ministries.
Organizationally, EQUIP is a ministry operating under the oversight of the elders of Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Eustis, Florida. In addition to its primary conference experience, the EQUIP website includes resources and participation tools—such as registration information, schedules, sponsor listings, and ways to support the event financially. EQUIP also provides Spanish-language information through EQUIPAR, reflecting an intent to serve a wider range of attendees.
