Asian Children's Mission

Asian Children’s Mission

Asian Children’s Mission serves vulnerable children and families in Myanmar through education, orphan care, community development, emergency aid, and evangelism.

Asian Children’s Mission — Organization Profile

Asian Children’s Mission is a Christian nonprofit ministry focused on caring for, protecting, and educating vulnerable children of Myanmar in the name of Jesus Christ. Commonly known as ACM, the ministry practices holistic Christian ministry, intentionally addressing both spiritual and physical needs through education, children’s homes, emergency aid, community development, and evangelism.

ACM is based in Ellettsville, Indiana, and serves children, families, churches, and communities in Myanmar, also known as Burma. The ministry’s work is carried out through native Myanmar staff members who lead programs in local contexts. ACM notes that Myanmar includes many ethnic people groups and that poverty is especially severe in remote areas. Its ministry also responds to displacement and instability connected to Myanmar’s civil conflict.

The organization began after its founder visited Myanmar in 2007 and committed to help open a home for children without a safe place to live. That children’s home opened in 2008 and remains part of ACM’s work. Since then, the ministry has expanded beyond orphan care into schools, relief operations, community development projects, and churches. ACM states that it now supports staff members in Myanmar who facilitate these efforts locally.

Education is a central part of ACM’s strategy. The ministry supports preschools, elementary education, and Joshua School, a program serving children with special needs in Myanmar. Its education work includes instruction for children from pre-K through high school and beyond, with particular concern for women and children facing poverty or limited opportunity. ACM also supports teachers who serve in remote areas and communities where educational access is limited.

ACM’s community development work includes the Samaritan Practical School of Nursing, Myanmar Community Development Center, Community Health Evangelism, vocational training, health clinic work, farm projects, and evangelist training. These programs are designed to strengthen families and communities so children can be fed, protected, educated, and discipled within healthier local environments. Vocational training includes practical skills such as computer classes, sign making, engine repair, sewing, chicken farming, English classes, construction, painting, and restaurant internships.

The ministry also engages in emergency aid, refugee resettlement support, and evangelism. ACM has assisted internally displaced people through food, bamboo homes, schools, churches, and gospel-centered encouragement. People can engage with Asian Children’s Mission by praying, giving one-time or recurring gifts, following ministry updates, contacting the board, or supporting education, orphan care, community development, emergency relief, and evangelism among vulnerable children and families in Myanmar.
