Camp Illiana

Camp Illiana — Organization Profile

Camp Illiana is a Christian camp and retreat ministry located in Washington, Indiana. The camp describes its purpose as creating space for people to encounter God deeply and says it fosters transformative experiences that lead people to take their next step following Jesus. Its public materials emphasize summer camps, retreats, outdoor activities, service opportunities, and year-round ministry experiences for children, students, families, churches, and guests.

The camp serves campers and partner churches across Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and the surrounding Midwest region. Camp Illiana is owned by Illiana Christian Assembly, Inc., which the camp identifies as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Its campus is listed at 723 E 450 S in Washington, Indiana, and Indiana’s youth-camp roster lists the camp capacity at 394 campers.

Camp Illiana’s primary ministry pathway is its summer camp program. The camp offers First Chance for kindergarten through 1st grade, High Five for 2nd through 3rd grade, Kids Camp for 4th through 6th grade, Epic Camp for 6th through 8th grade, HS Camp for 9th through 12th grade, and Unite for 7th through 12th grade. The camp also points college-age participants toward Best 8 Days and provides a Camper Guide, mission information, session photos, and other summer resources.

The camp operates through a mix of programmed teaching, worship, recreation, small-group experiences, and outdoor activities. Its activity offerings include ziplines, a giant swing, high ropes, low ropes, a climbing wall, paintball, lake activities, pool activities, field games, and team games. These activities support the camp’s broader ministry goal by giving students and groups shared experiences that can encourage trust, community, courage, and spiritual growth.

Camp Illiana also serves churches, schools, and groups through events and facilities outside the summer season. The website lists year-round opportunities such as the Ladies Craft Retreat, Dr. Overdorf Vision Night, facility use, and an event guide for groups planning gatherings at the camp. The ministry also invites people to serve through summer staff roles, serve teams, training opportunities, and a prayer team.

People can engage with Camp Illiana by registering campers, reviewing the Camper Guide, giving online, volunteering with the Serve Team, applying for summer staff, joining the prayer team, attending a retreat, or contacting the camp about facility use. Its year-round staff provide leadership for administration, camper experience, activities, and operations while working with ministry partners and the local community.
