Ignite Church Planting โ€” Organization Profile

Ignite Church Planting is a church-planting ministry dedicated to bringing hope to Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana by starting new churches. With a stated mission to accelerate the spread of Jesusโ€™ mission across the region, Ignite exists to help reach people who are not currently connected to Jesus or the local church by launching new congregations in strategic communities.

Igniteโ€™s work is built around four guiding valuesโ€”Prayer, Planters, Partners, and Possibilitiesโ€”which shape how they approach ministry and leadership development. Prayer is treated as a primary source of wisdom and direction. Planters are treated as the central โ€œresource,โ€ meaning Ignite prioritizes the health, readiness, and long-term sustainability of the leaders and families who do the work of planting. Partners (churches and individuals) are invited to play meaningful roles in the mission, even if they are not planters themselves. Possibilities reflects Igniteโ€™s emphasis on innovationโ€”adapting methods and strategies to effectively reach diverse people groups in a complex, modern metro environment.

A major emphasis of Ignite is supporting church planters through a practical, structured pathway. Their planter care includes funding, assessment, coaching, and mentoring, with the goal of placing leaders into ministry contexts where they have the best chance to thrive. Ignite describes using pre-assessment materials, behavioral interviews, and an assessment process to help evaluate fit, readiness, and gifting for church planting. After launching, planters receive ongoing coaching and guidance from experienced leaders who have started and grown churches in the region.

Ignite also promotes collaborative involvement for churches and individualsโ€”inviting supporters to engage through prayer, giving, and participation. Their website includes resources like project maps, newsletters, prayer tools, and media that help partners stay informed about the mission and the needs of the region.
