Renew Movement โ€” Organization Profile

Renew Movement is a collaborative church planting community that connects church planters, churches, and networks around a shared commitment to planting healthy, reproducing, Biblically sound, disciple-making churches. Rather than positioning itself as an institution that โ€œdoes the planting,โ€ Renew Movement emphasizes local churches partnering togetherโ€”pooling resources, leadership, and experienceโ€”to make church multiplication more accessible and sustainable.

At the heart of Renew Movement is a set of cultural distinctives that shape how partners work together: collaboration, theological centeredness, disciple-making, reproduction, healthy support, and accountability. This framework is designed to keep the authority of Scripture and the teachings of Jesus central while also encouraging practical multiplicationโ€”new churches that begin with the expectation of helping plant future churches.

Renew Movement serves leaders and congregations across the United States and Canada who are exploring a call to plant, to become a sending church, or to affiliate as a network partner. The movement highlights that โ€œchurches plant churchesโ€ and aims to reduce barriers that keep churches in a โ€œsomedayโ€ mindset. By inviting multiple churches or partners into a single project, a congregation does not need to carry all the financial, staffing, or technical burden alone.

Operationally, Renew Movement comes alongside church planting efforts with support services that commonly include assessment, training (including residency pathways), project management for pre-launch planning, and coaching. The movement also describes a governance approach where a management team drawn from collaborating partners provides oversight and accountability for the planter and the new church until permanent elders are established. This structure is meant to encourage health, transparency, and steady leadership development during the early stages of a plant.

For churches and leaders considering involvement, Renew Movement provides resources to help with values alignment, theological alignment (including a publicly available faith statement through Renew.org), and opportunities to ask questions through scheduled calls or webinars. People can engage by affiliating as a partner church, exploring collaboration on a specific planting project, pursuing training and coaching support, or connecting directly with the team to discern fit and next steps.
