You may notice a new name on our masthead. Or if youโve contacted our office, you may have seen that name on the e-mail or heard a new voice over the phone.
They all belong to Diane Jones, who began her service with CHRISTIAN STANDARD this summer. Hers was a gradual transition from her previous duties at Standard Publishing to this new role. Sheโs here full-time now, and we couldnโt be happier.
Diane Jones Joins the Christian Standard Staff
Diane is sitting at the desk formerly occupied by Jennifer Holder, whose name has stayed on our masthead even though she departed for maternity leave in December. We anticipated that her departure would be temporary, so we didnโt insert the name of her interim replacement, Kathy Underwood. When Jennifer decided to stay home with her new baby, we began rethinking our organizational chart, and Kathy stayed on longer than we had planned.
Weโre most grateful for the conscientious and competent work she did, much of it based on the excellent foundation left by Jennifer before her. Many readers, writers, and advertisers were served well by Kathy during the several months she worked here.
We believe the same will happen now with Diane. She comes to us after more than a decade of service in a variety of administrative support positions at Standard Publishing, in the sales, marketing, and editorial departments. We value the wide range of experience and abilities she brings to this new assignment.
Her title is magazine production coordinator, a clue to the fact that she will do more than help us produce weekly issues of CHRISTIAN STANDARD. As she learns the capabilities of our companyโs newly installed system for circulation management, she will contribute to the work of The Lookout as well.
Meanwhile, we must thank managing editor Jim Nieman for steering us through this past yearโs interim arrangements. His steady hand on our weekly work is a major reason most readers havenโt seen any signs of our behind-the-scenes changes.
