by | 10 November, 2021 | 0 comments

TCM is sponsoring its second PrayerFast event from 10 a.m. to noon (EST) this Saturday. Individuals and groups are invited to register and participate via a link at TCM’s website.

“The purpose of the gathering—the purpose of PrayerFast—is to foster a global network of people committed to regular prayer and fasting, asking the Lord to raise up disciples in every nation who will impact their churches, cultures, and countries for Christ,” Tony Twist, president of the TCM International Institute, writes in an article that appears in the November/December 2021 issue of Christian Standard.

PrayerFast will be a focus of the International Conference On Missions for the next few years.

Hope International University, Fullerton, Calif., staged its Spirit of Hope Concert & Awards Gala on Oct. 29 in the Grand Ballroom of the Disneyland Resort Hotel. More than 400 HIU alumni and friends gathered for the elegant evening of celebration, inspiration, and philanthropy. The university’s signature event raised more than $215,000 for student scholarships, which shattered the previous gala record.

The 2021 program honored individuals and organizations that embody and exemplify the “Spirit of Hope,” while also highlighting HIU’s rich legacy of ministry and Restoration Movement roots. One highlight was a 3-minute video featuring HIU president Paul Alexander and present and former professors—K. C. Richardson, David Matson, and Joe Grana—that quickly summarizes the foundational ideas and objectives of the Restoration Movement.

In an article for The Torch, Central Christian College of the Bible’s newsmagazine, president David Fincher described how CCCB’s $3.65 million “LIFT the Torch” fund-raising campaign and a unique financial arrangement with The Solomon Foundation (TSF) are helping relieve the institution of debt, make capital improvements to its campus in Moberly, Mo., and expand its educational offerings.

A major aspect of this, approved by the college’s trustees, saw TSF purchase the buildings and 28 acres of the college’s campus, which TSF is now leasing back to CCCB long-term at a significant cost-savings to the institution. TSF is a church extension fund that serves Restoration Movement churches, individuals, and organizations.
