Tom Harper, who serves as founder and publisher of BiblicalLeadership.com, CEO of Networld Media Group, and as an elder at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Ky., has released his newest book, Inner Threat: Combatting Christian Leadership’s Natural Enemy.
Inner Threatโa sequel to Through Colored Glassesโexplores sinโs insidious impact in the workplace. The intent of the book, written as a novel, is to equip leaders for the internal battle every leader must wage, whether they lead in the marketplace, the church, or any type of organization. Harper reveals in the afterword how leaders can resist the dark reality Paul described in Romans 7:21: โAlthough I want to do good, evil is right there with me.โ
Writing books on leadership is not new for Harper. His other recent book, which is nonfiction, is Servant Leader Strong (2019); the Spanish version just released last month.
David Bowman, a leadership coach, consultant, and trainer, wrote the following review of Inner Threat, on BiblicalLeadership.com.
Tom Harper is a talented man and a premier business leader. He manages a website and newsletter for Christian leaders and is both a publisher and an author. His superior abilities in each of these realms is exemplary. . . .
Harperโs latest novel, Inner Threat: Combatting Christian Leadershipโs Natural Enemy, is a true gift for leaders. He helps us see problems through the eyes and experiences of others. We see what they do right, what they do wrong, where they lack clarity, and what is missing.
This novel stimulates a desire for more pages and more action for all the right reasons. I recently completed another tome of over 800 wearying pages. Despite the bookโs many accolades, I couldnโt help wishing for a manuscript briefer by half. Harper weaves a story a reader would enjoy if it were twice as long. Inner Threat was consumed in one flight from the Pacific Northwest back home to Texas.
This book will help you identify and address those little things that have a way of becoming bigger things and sometimes even disastrous things. Wouldnโt it be nice if more books followed such a formula?
This is a good book for a group of leaders to read and discuss together. Accountability relationships could be established and problems solved before they begin. Each group member could help the others become a leader who does the right thing first time and every time.
Inner Threat is published by Deep Water Books. Learn more about the book on the publisherโs website here.
