Have We Said Enough?

Tom Ellsworth says most people must receive a barrage of promotion before they realize the facts about something new.

“I have learned through years of ministry that the church must print, project, publish, and promote its agenda heavily to be successful,” he told me. “A special program needs to be announced from the pulpit, advertised in church publications, posted to the church Web site, flashed on the big screen, and talked about in general conversation to ensure congregational “˜buy-in.” Doing it once or twice won”t cut it. It is only when we as staff are tired of hearing about it that most others are just beginning to pick up on the news.”

If Tom”s right, we may not have said enough about Preaching Standard, the project he edits for Standard Publishing. We may not have told you that among sermon-building services, it”s unique. You may not realize all of its content comes from popular Restoration Movement preachers. You may not know it brings you new sermons and illustrations every week, plus book reviews and quotable news bits to deepen the thinking and enrich the speaking of every preacher and teacher.

So let us try one more time. You or the preacher you know really should try it. For a free trial offer, go to www.PreachingStandard.com.

And that”s not the only new thing from Standard Publishing we”re promoting.

On the Web””For example, you know about Christian Standard”s wonderful Web site, don”t you? You know all of our weekly content since March, 2003 is posted there? You”ve tried some research using our powerful search feature? And you”ve discovered online content that never makes it to the print magazine””like our weekly Sunday school lesson, many letters to the editor, and occasionally other special features?

Maybe we should urge you again. Please visit www.ChristianStandard.com.

While you”re there, you can sign-up for our free e-newsletter. Every week we”ll send it to your e-mail inbox. Get summaries of each week”s magazine and church news not available anywhere else.

On your calendar””And then there are events we”re sponsoring:

“¢ Two conferences especially for smaller churches (see full details at the bottom of Shawn McMullen’s essay).

“¢ A tour to historic Cane Ridge meeting house June 27 just before the North American Christian Convention in Louisville.

“¢ Simultaneously, a pre-NACC luncheon featuring Rick Rusaw and Kyle Idleman. It will offer you a special preview of two cutting-edge programs for your church from Standard Publishing unlike anything we”ve ever offered before.

Get details about these NACC events at our Web site. Which we mentioned above. And which you already knew about. And everything we”ve shared here is already old news to you. Right?

Well . . . we certainly hope so!
