The grand opening of White Flag Church’s new 45,000-square-foot facility in St. Louis will take place Sept. 10. The facility is located just south of the church’s current building in south St. Louis County.
After the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. services that day, there will be a public grand opening event that includes an open house, food, and family activities.
The facility includes a 1,037-seat worship center, additional parking, a community café, and a wing dedicated to children’s ministry. Future development of the surrounding land will include public-use areas such as a fishing pond, trails, open lawns, a boardwalk, and natural wetlands.
White Flag has partnered with Goodwin Brothers Construction as general contractor, Lawrence Group for architectural design, and The Solomon Foundation for financing.
Lead pastor Paul Wingfield called this facility “so much more than a building. Marriages will be restored here. Addictions will be overcome here. People will meet Jesus here. Lives will be transformed here!”

New Hope Christian Church, Nokomis, Fla., participated in “Baptism at the Gulf,” sponsored by One Christ, Won City in Venice, Fla., on May 28. Nine people from New Hope were among hundreds from various churches (spanning the coast from Clearwater Beach to Naples, Fla.) baptized in the Gulf of Mexico that day. Guthrie Veech, who has served with New Hope for seven years, reports the church has grown from 21 on their first Sunday to more than 200 on three occasions since Christmas 2022.

Bonner Lee Jackson, a nearly 50-year worker at Roanoke Christian Camp in Washington, N.C., and a well-loved community member who pedaled around town on his three-wheeled bike, died Aug. 13. The camp’s pavilion was named for him in 2016. A celebration of Jackson’s life is being planned there for Oct. 21. The Washington Daily News published a feature story about Jackson’s passing.

More than 50 area organizations, churches, and ministries were at Ozark Christian College’s campus in Joplin, Mo., last week for the Community Ministry Expo. The event provided OCC students with an opportunity to sign up to serve as part of their ministry training.
