West Lafayette Christian Church is seeking a Senior Minister to help lead a multi-generational congregation aligned with Christian Churches/Churches of Christ as they pursue their vision of becoming a family of passionate people transformed by the love and truth of Jesus. Located in a residential neighborhood adjacent to Purdue University, the church ministers in a setting that includes youth education, youth ministry, college and career young adults, women’s ministry, small groups, worship, outreach, missions, member care, and a preschool ministry serving families in the community. The church is looking for a spiritually mature leader who lives in a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and models the biblical qualifications for church leadership described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Serving as a member of the eldership and participating in decision-making, policy formation, pastoral care, and shared accountability for the health, unity, and spiritual direction of the church.
- Preparing and delivering sermons at all regular and special worship services unless otherwise agreed upon by the elders.
- Preaching and teaching Scripture with depth, relevance, and a gospel-centered focus through an expository approach aligned with Restoration Movement history and ecclesiology.
- Providing leadership in developing and supporting ministry team leaders and coordinating communication between them.
- Providing pastoral care and counseling, offering spiritual and emotional support to members.
- Communicating with sister churches, missions, and para-church organizations on matters of mutual concern.
