Dailey Chapel Christian Church in Rosedale, Indiana, is seeking a part-time Youth Director to design, lead, and grow a comprehensive children and youth ministry for grades K–12. The church is located in rural Parke County, about 25 minutes north of Terre Haute, and describes itself as a small, warm, welcoming, family-oriented congregation.
Dailey Chapel currently has a small number of children and youth, from babies to teens, and does not yet have an official youth program or ministry. The successful candidate will help build a ministry that serves children and teens by age group while keeping the larger group in mind. The position is part-time to start, with the possibility of becoming full-time.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Designing, leading, and growing a children and youth ministry for grades K–12.
- Teaching or directing Children’s Church and Youth Church.
- Creating and leading activities that are fun, educational, service-oriented, and spiritually formative.
- Developing Sunday morning ministry while helping the program grow to include evening events, seasonal activities, trips, and other opportunities.
- Conducting community outreach to connect with unchurched children, youth, and families.
- Recruiting, organizing, and directing volunteers who support Dailey Chapel’s biblical beliefs.
- Meeting with the board-appointed committee as needed.
Expectations and qualifications include:
- Support for and adherence to Dailey Chapel’s biblical beliefs.
- Being an immersed believer who is actively pursuing a relationship with Christ.
- Strong biblical knowledge and sound theology rooted in the Restoration Movement.
- A degree in theology or children’s/youth ministry from a Restoration Movement Bible college is preferred.
- Strong people skills and effective communication.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with grace and biblical wisdom.
- Active participation in church services, meetings, and church-wide activities.
