Connections Recovery Network — Organization Profile Connections Recovery Network (CRN) is a Christian recovery-ministry network that equips local churches to launch and sustain recovery ministries centered on discipleship, relationships, and Jesus. The network grew out of the recovery ministry at Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville, Indiana, where church leaders developed a ministry culture for walking alongside people affected by addiction and supporting their movement toward recovery and spiritual growth. CRN takes that experience and shares it with other congregations through a church-to-church, practitioner-to-practitioner model. Rather than asking participating congregations to adopt a centrally controlled or franchised ministry, CRN emphasizes local church ownership of recovery ministry. Connections Recovery Network (CRN) is a Christian recovery-ministry network that equips local churches to launch and sustain recovery ministries centered on discipleship, relationships, and Jesus.
Its approach is built around ten distinctives: Jesus Is Our Solution, Grace Over Shame, Truth With Love, Authenticity Over Image, Progress Not Perfection, Community Is Essential, Confidentiality Builds Trust, Servant Leadership, Multiplication Matters, and Hope Is Louder. Together, these principles shape how participating churches develop groups, train leaders, create environments for honest relationships, and connect recovery with Christian discipleship.
Connections Recovery Network serves churches seeking to establish or strengthen recovery ministry in their own communities. Its model was developed in Mooresville, Indiana, but the network is designed for churches beyond that local setting and states that churches of different sizes can participate. CRN says it partners with churches that identify Jesus as Lord and are serious about recovery, while emphasizing unity rather than requiring every participating congregation to operate identically. The goal is to help churches develop ministry that fits their community while retaining the network's core recovery and discipleship culture.
Churches joining the network receive several practical resources. CRN provides a 90-Day Launch Resource that covers steps from recruiting leaders through holding an initial recovery meeting. Participating churches also receive one year of Scripture-based meeting curriculum organized around themes including identity, inventory, community, and freedom. A further component is one year of leadership development and coaching, designed to help churches develop healthy recovery-ministry leaders who can eventually train and support others. CRN describes its approach as practitioner-led, meaning churches learn from people with experience operating recovery ministry rather than primarily from outside consultants.
The process for churches begins by contacting Connections Recovery Network and explaining their congregation's current situation and interest in recovery ministry. A CRN practitioner then schedules a conversation to learn about the church, answer questions, and determine whether the network is an appropriate fit. Churches that move forward as Founding Churches begin using the launch resources, curriculum, coaching, and practitioner community. Through this process, CRN seeks to help congregations create relational, reproducible recovery ministries that connect recovery with ongoing discipleship in Jesus.

Sonlight Ministries is a Christian mission serving Port-de-Paix, Haiti, through Gospel-centered education, church ministry, student sponsorship, community outreach, and missionary service. The ministry exists to reach and train Haitian people to reach and train others for the Kingdom of God by effectively communicating the Gospel through education, lifestyle, and words.
The ministry is based in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, with U.S. financial correspondence handled through Evansville, Indiana. Its work serves Haitian children, families, students, church members, teachers, and community contacts in Port-de-Paix, La Pointe, St. Louis du Nord, and the surrounding region of northwest Haiti. Sonlight’s vision is to see generations transformed for God through education and to equip graduates as servant-leaders with a biblical worldview.
Sonlight Ministries began when Roger and Norma Alexander moved to Haiti in 1983 to train and teach church leaders. In 1986, they started a preschool class in their living room with four children, teaching all subjects in English and making Bible a central part of each day. That early class grew into Sonlight Academy, an English-immersion Christian school that now serves students from preschool through twelfth grade.
Sonlight Academy is one of the ministry’s central programs. Students receive academic instruction, Bible teaching, English-language education, French instruction, and Christian worldview formation. The academy describes its graduates as trilingual in Creole, English, and French, and it emphasizes that education can open wider career and college opportunities while also influencing families spiritually.
Sonlight Church grew out of the school community so students, staff, and families could receive consistent biblical teaching. The church now serves the Port-de-Paix community through worship, Sunday school, and pastoral ministry under Haitian leadership. The ministry has also included Sonlight Bible College, which operated from 2004 to 2021 and graduated more than 120 students, some of whom became involved in new church plants in the region.
People can engage with Sonlight Ministries by giving, sponsoring a student, praying, visiting with a group, applying for long-term missionary service, subscribing for updates, or contacting the ministry about employment and service opportunities. Its distinct contribution is a long-term Port-de-Paix ministry that connects Christian education, local church life, student sponsorship, leadership development, community outreach, and Haitian-led Gospel witness.

Pacific Christian College of Ministry & Biblical Studies is the ministry-training college within Hope International University (HIU). Based in Fullerton, California, the college focuses on preparing students for professional and parachurch ministry through Bible- and theology-centered education paired with supervised experience. As part of HIU, Pacific Christian College serves undergraduate and graduate students who want their academic work to connect directly to church leadership, ministry practice, and Christian service.
The college’s leadership describes an educational philosophy that blends “education and experience,” emphasizing analytical engagement with life, ministry, theology, and the biblical text. In practice, this means students are not only trained in classroom settings, but also encouraged to develop ministry competencies through structured, hands-on learning. Pacific Christian College’s approach is framed by the belief in the “priesthood of all believers,” reinforcing that Christian vocation and ministry formation extend beyond one job title or role.
At the undergraduate level, Pacific Christian College lists several ministry-focused majors that connect biblical studies to ministry settings. These include Biblical Studies, Worship Arts, Children & Family Ministry, Church Ministry, Intercultural Studies (Missions), and Youth & Family Ministry. Across these programs, the college highlights learning from faculty and practitioners while equipping students to serve in local churches, missions contexts, and other ministry environments.
A distinctive feature of Pacific Christian College’s ministry preparation is its residency requirement for students in ministry-focused degrees. The college notes that one to two years of residency is built into Ministry, Bible, Worship Arts, and Intercultural Studies degrees, with students earning credit through ministry experience at a church near the Fullerton campus or, in some cases, out of state. Intercultural Studies majors may also have options to complete residency credits overseas in consultation with academic advisors. This residency model is designed to embed students in real ministry responsibility and develop leadership readiness prior to graduation.
At the graduate level, Pacific Christian College offers ministry and biblical studies pathways that include graduate certificates and degrees such as a Master of Arts in Ministry and a Master of Divinity. These options are intended for students pursuing deeper theological preparation, leadership development, and ministry skill-building in ways that support long-term service and vocational clarity.
Those who want to engage with Pacific Christian College can do so through HIU’s admissions pathways by scheduling a visit, requesting information, and applying. Churches can also participate by exploring what it means to become a residency church, aligning with the college’s commitment to form leaders through supervised ministry practice. Supporters who value ministry training within Christian higher education can connect through HIU’s giving opportunities that help sustain students and programs.
