Abilene Christian University

Abilene Christian University — Organization Profile

Abilene Christian University (ACU) is a private Christian university that offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs through both residential and online learning. Founded in 1906, the university describes its mission as educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. ACU’s academic work is paired with a campus culture that emphasizes spiritual formation, service, and community life alongside classroom learning.

ACU is based in Abilene, Texas, and also operates a Dallas Campus in Addison, Texas. Through its on-campus programs, distance education, and ACU Online offerings, the university serves students from Texas and beyond, including learners preparing for service and leadership in communities around the world. The institution’s mission and values emphasize teaching, research, and meaningful service as part of a Christian calling.

As a university, ACU organizes learning through academic colleges and degree programs, while also supporting students through advising, campus services, and student-life programming. In addition to traditional undergraduate study, ACU provides graduate and professional pathways that support working adults, ministry leaders, and others seeking flexible formats. This combination of residential and online delivery is a key way ACU extends access to education shaped by its Christian commitments.

ACU’s approach includes multiple avenues for students and supporters to engage. Prospective students can connect through admissions and campus visit opportunities, while alumni and friends can contribute through giving initiatives that support scholarships, projects, and programs. Donors can also participate through ACU’s giving platform and related alumni association giving opportunities, helping fund student support and institutional priorities.

Those who want to connect with ACU can use the university’s contact resources for the Abilene and Dallas campuses, follow official social media channels for university updates, and explore opportunities to support students through giving. Information about senior leadership is also publicly available, offering clarity about who is responsible for guiding the university’s academic, operational, and student-focused work.
