GO Ministries โ Organization Profile
GO Ministries is a Christian missions organization focused on empowering local leaders to make disciples through long-term ministry partnerships and short-term mission teams. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, the organization works primarily alongside local leaders in the Dominican Republic while also supporting disciple-making efforts in additional contexts, including Haiti, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States.
GO Ministries describes its mission as empowering local leaders to make disciples โas God redeems people, renews communities and restores creation through mutual transformation.โ In practice, that emphasis shows up in how GO structures its work: rather than running disconnected projects, GO aims to strengthen existing leaders, churches, and community relationships so that ministry momentum is owned locally and can multiply over time.
GOโs work is organized into three focused areas of ministry: GO Church Planting, GO Medical, and GO Sports. Church Planting partnerships support pastors and planters as they form disciple-making communities and develop new leaders. GO Church Planting also shares a specific growth aimโplanting 1,000 churches in 10 yearsโand notes partnerships across hundreds of communities in multiple countries. In addition, GO Church Planting includes ministry within prison contexts in the Dominican Republic.
GO Medical focuses on expanding access to care by partnering with medical professionals and hosting mobile clinic efforts that include triage, provider assessment, pharmacy, and prayer. GO Sports uses athletics as a relational platform to share the gospel and disciple athletes and their communities. Across each area, GO invites churches, students, and individuals to engage through structured trips that support local leaders and community needs.
Short-term mission trips are a major on-ramp for involvement. GO teams typically serve alongside Dominican and Haitian leaders through childrenโs and student ministry activities, discipleship groups, service projects, worship gatherings, and (depending on the trip focus) clinics or sports outreach. GO also provides trip preparation resources to help teams understand expectations, cross-cultural engagement, and how their week connects to ongoing local ministry.
Beyond trips, GO offers ways to participate through giving and sponsorship. Their Disciple-First Sponsorship framework includes options connected to each ministry focus (including GO Kids), allowing supporters to direct resources toward disciple-making work that is already happening in partner communities. GO also develops training infrastructure in the Dominican Republic through the Leadership Development Complex, positioned as a place where emerging leaders can be equipped and then sent back into their communities as disciple-makers.
