Impact Campus Ministries โ Organization Profile
Impact Campus Ministries (ICM) is a U.S.-based campus ministry organization that works with college students through local ministry teams and a broader support structure for staff, donors, and ministry partners. Its stated vision is โImpact the U. Impact the World,โ and its mission is to pursue, model, and teach intimacy with God on the American university campus in Christian community. Based in Mishawaka, Indiana, the organization serves students on campuses across the United States, with ministry teams in multiple regions and a stated concern for reaching students on American university campuses.
The ministryโs core focus is spiritual formation, discipleship, and community among college students. Impact describes success not primarily in terms of attendance or expansion, but as developing intimacy with God and community with one another through a living relationship with Jesus. That emphasis shapes its culture of prayer, team-based ministry, and support-raising. The organization also stresses connection with the local church, accountability in Christian community, and a ministry philosophy that places prayer at the foundation of its work.
Impact Campus Ministries operates through campus-based teams that serve specific universities and regions, along with an executive and support staff that help with development, mobilization, communications, and operations. Its campus ministries include mentoring, student-led gatherings, Bible study, and relationship-based discipleship, with each location shaped by its campus context. The organization also highlights team-based campus ministry, a distinctive that it says helps staff work more effectively and sustainably. In addition to established campus locations, Impact provides pathways for internships, apprenticeships, recruitment, and new ministry planting.
Its history helps explain why the name Dean Trune is still associated with Impact. According to the organizationโs history page, the ministry that eventually became Impact Campus Ministries emerged in 2010 as a distinct work focused exclusively on campus ministry in the United States. At that point, the predecessor ministry adopted a new name, Intentional Impact Living, to be led by Dean Trune, with a renewed focus on prayer and spiritual coaching. Impact Campus Ministries then continued under its own board and leadership structure, later expanding administrative support, donor systems, and staff development as it clarified its mission and vision.
People can engage with Impact Campus Ministries in several ways. Students can look for a local campus ministry through the organizationโs campus finder. Potential staff and interns can explore openings and application pathways. Supporters can give through the general fund, contribute to staff teams, become a Champion, or support strategic initiatives. The ministry also connects with a broader audience through BEMA Discipleship, a teaching ministry that grew out of Impactโs campus context and remains part of the organizationโs wider work. For churches, donors, alumni, and volunteers, Impact presents itself as a way to invest in college students who can carry Christian discipleship into future vocations, relationships, and communities.
