Nashville School of Preaching and Biblical Studies

Nashville School of Preaching and Biblical Studies — Organization Profile

The Nashville School of Preaching and Biblical Studies (often abbreviated NSP) is a non-accredited Bible training program operated under the oversight of the elders of the Crieve Hall Church of Christ. The school exists to equip Christians for ministry by providing Bible and Bible-related instruction that trains Bible teachers and gospel preachers to work with churches of Christ, while welcoming any student committed to learning and doing God’s will.

NSP is based in Nashville, Tennessee, meeting at the Crieve Hall Church of Christ campus on Trousdale Drive. Its student body includes adults with varied backgrounds—ranging from full-time ministers and Bible teachers to families and church members who want deeper understanding of Scripture. The school’s format is intentionally accessible for working adults, with structured classes offered in an organized “school situation” and an emphasis on consistent study habits.

Instruction is delivered through term-based evening schedules. During Fall and Spring terms, NSP meets three nights each week—Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday—for thirteen weeks, with 50-minute class periods beginning at 6:00, 7:40, and 8:40 p.m. The Summer term runs for eight weeks and meets on Tuesday evenings, and the school also offers opportunities to participate via ZOOM-based learning (including short courses offered during Summer terms in recent years).

NSP offers two primary certificate tracks: a Preaching Certificate and a Biblical Studies Certificate. The school notes that men may complete either course of study, while women may complete the Biblical Studies Certificate track. For students pursuing completion, 36 credits are required for graduation, and each course typically counts as one credit. At the same time, students can attend classes for learning without necessarily aiming for graduation, building a schedule that fits their needs and stage of life.

A key distinctive of NSP is that there are no fees from registration through graduation (though students may need to purchase textbooks for certain classes). In addition to classroom instruction, students benefit from onsite resources, including a substantial library collection made available to support serious Bible study. Those who want to engage can review the current term schedule, pre-register as directed for individual classes, and participate in person or online as the term offerings allow.
