Remember the Children

Remember the Children — Organization Profile

Remember the Children, also known as RTC, is a Christian ministry focused on transforming lives and communities through leadership development, church planting, and orphan care. The organization works with local leaders and churches to care for vulnerable children, strengthen communities, and share the hope of Christ through long-term ministry relationships.

The ministry is based in Noblesville, Indiana, and its work is centered primarily in Romania, with additional ministry connections in Tanzania and Ukrainian refugee relief. Remember the Children describes Romania’s orphan and vulnerable-child crisis as requiring more than institutional support; its approach also includes strengthening local leaders and planting churches in underserved areas so communities can care for their own people more effectively.

Remember the Children’s orphan care work emphasizes family-based homes rather than institutional orphanage care. Children placed in RTC homes live with committed house parents and receive food, housing, medical care, education, biblical mentorship, church involvement, and long-term relational support. Through sponsorship, supporters help provide children with practical care and spiritual encouragement in a home environment.

Church planting is another major part of RTC’s strategy. The ministry states that churches serving children can reach entire villages, because care for children creates trust with families and community leaders. Through church-based programs, children receive school support, tutoring, homework help, school supplies, snacks, Bible lessons, and opportunities to participate in Vacation Bible School and other Gospel-centered activities.

Remember the Children also invests in leadership development for pastors, ministry leaders, and future leaders. Its ministry overview describes mentoring current and future leaders, investing in biblical education, and hosting leadership trainings. This work is designed to strengthen local churches and equip leaders who can guide communities spiritually and practically.

People can engage with Remember the Children by sponsoring a child, giving, praying through the ministry partner prayer guide, participating in mission trips, supporting church engagement, leaving a legacy gift, supporting Tanzania ministry, or contributing to Ukrainian refugee relief. Its distinct contribution is a Romania-focused ministry model that connects orphan care, church planting, leadership development, sponsorship, and short-term mission engagement for long-term community transformation.
