Remember the Children initially raised funds to help orphans and took medicines to orphanages, Andy Baker says. Later the ministry began focusing on finding Romanian families for orphans. Soon that work expanded to helping at-risk children living in extreme poverty. Eventually, RTC saw the need for communities of faith in places where the gospel was not having an impact and began planting churches . . .

David Faust traveled to Romania with Remember the Children’s Andy Baker and others the last week of April. The group sought to encourage Romanian Christians who have been assisting the thousands of Ukrainian refugees who have flooded into their country since the war began in late February.

By Jennifer Taylor Milligan College alumnus Andy Baker founded Remember the Children, a nonprofit organization committed to serving the forgotten children and families in Eastern Europe, after a trip to Romania in 1996. This fall he partnered with Milligan to collect 10,000 pairs of shoes for Romanian children. Milligan junior Rachel Severns helped spread the word on campus and collected contributions from community members.
